Fulham vs Bournemouth Prediction: 29/12/2024

Fulham is currently enjoying a stable position in the Premier League, comfortably placed in the mid-table and free from relegation concerns. With just 3 points separating them from the top 5, they could aim for European competition if they maintain their strong form.

Before their challenging Boxing Day match against Chelsea, Fulham had been unbeaten in their last five games, which included a 3-1 win over Brighton and draws with Arsenal (1-1), Liverpool (2-2), and Southampton (0-0).

On the other hand, Bournemouth is having a remarkable season. In their third consecutive year in the Premier League, they are sitting in 5th place and have recently won four out of their last five games.

Their victories feature impressive results against Wolverhampton (2-4), Bournemouth (1-0), Ipswich (1-2), West Ham (1-1), and Manchester United (0-3). They aim to continue their strong performance when they face Crystal Palace on Boxing Day.

Fulham will be missing a few key players. Midfielder Reed, winger Nelson (who has scored 2 goals), and former Lyon player Tete are unavailable.

There are uncertainties about key midfielders Smith-Rowe, Berge, and Lukic, but there is hope they will be fit for the Boxing Day match. In attack, Iwobi and Jimenez, both with five Premier League goals this season, will be Fulham’s main offensive threats, alongside Smith-Rowe (3 goals).

Bournemouth also has several absentees, including defenders Araujo and Senesi, midfielder Scott, and wingers Tavernier (1 goal, 4 assists) and Sinisterra (1 goal). Captain Smith is also a doubt due to an injury. In attack, Evanilson (4 goals), Semenyo (5 goals), and Kluivert (6 goals) are the key players to watch, while Ünal has been less impactful this season with only 2 goals.

Prediction

Fulham’s recent home form has been concerning, with seven losses in their last ten home matches and 19 goals conceded in those defeats. Conversely, Bournemouth has shown good form on the road, winning four of their nine away matches, indicating their competitive edge.

Prediction: Fulham 1 – 2 Bournemouth
